GoutBye privacy notice
Last updated 20 October 2026
The short version. Everything you log in GoutBye stays on your phone. There is no account, and we do not receive your diary. We don't sell data, show ads, run analytics or track you.
Who we are
GoutBye is made by Ranklore Pte Ltd, Singapore. For any question, request or complaint about your personal data, write to our Data Protection Officer at hello@ranklore.ai.
What stays on your phone
Everything you log: food and drinks, pain and joints, flares, medicines and doses, uric acid results, water, exercise, notes, reminders and your profile. It is stored only on your phone, inside the app. We cannot see it. If you delete the app or its data, or lose your phone without a backup, we cannot recover it.
Backups, CSV exports, reminder calendar files and doctor PDFs are files you create and share yourself, through your phone's share menu, to wherever you choose. The app keeps its own temporary copy only until your next export, the next time the app starts, or when you delete your data. If that copy cannot be removed, the app tells you.
On Android, GoutBye turns off cloud backup of its data. On iPhone, your phone's own device backup may include app data, depending on your phone's settings. To move your diary to a new phone, use Save a backup in the app.
Your location
If you allow it, the eat-out map uses your location to centre the map near you and show places nearby. Distances are worked out on your phone. GoutBye does not store your location or send it to us. To draw the map, your phone loads map tiles for the area shown from OneMap (below). When the map is centred on you, those tile requests show OneMap the area around you, which can be within a few hundred metres of where you are. Once you have allowed location, the map uses it each time you open the eat-out map; you can turn location off for GoutBye in your phone's settings.
Other services the app uses
- The eat-out map shows map tiles from OneMap (Singapore Land Authority), which sees your internet address and the map area being shown, as any map service does. Nothing else in the app uses the internet on its own.
- Links you tap (official menu, health information and research pages, directions in Google Maps, and email) open those services, which have their own privacy policies.
- The app is built with Capacitor, an open-source framework. It does not send data anywhere by itself.
- The website version at goutbye.vercel.app is hosted on Vercel, which sees your internet address when the page loads, as any web host does.
Children
GoutBye is meant for adults managing gout. It is not directed at children.
Your rights
Because your diary stays on your phone, you control it: you can view, change, export or delete it in the app at any time (Me, then My data). You can also write to us at hello@ranklore.ai. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (pdpc.gov.sg).
Health information
GoutBye is for education and tracking. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, or replace your doctor. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your treatment. In an emergency call 995.
Changes
If we add features that send data off your phone, such as optional AI features or a leaderboard, we will update this notice and ask for your permission in the app before anything is sent.
